Instead of taking your key to a locksmith or hardware store, KeySuppliesAU allows yout to simply upload a clear photo of it through our website. Our system processes that image and generates a precise 3D model of your key, which is then sent to you as a downloadable digital file.
That file can be taken to any 3D printing service, locally or online, or printed at home if you have access to a printer. We don't manufacture or ship physical keys. What we provide is the digital blueprint.
What Types of Keys We Accept
We accept most standard key types, including:
Residential - house keys, deadbolts, padlocks, mailbox keys
Commercial - office keys, master keys, restricted access keys
Automotive - basic car and motorcycle keys (note: transponder/chip keys require additional hardware to function and cannot be replicated digitally through this service alone)
Miscellaneous - cabinet keys, luggage keys, window locks
If you're unsure whether your key type is supported, contact us before uploading.
The File You Receive
Once your key has been processed, you'll receive your model in the following formats:
STL - the most widely supported format for 3D printing, compatible with virtually all consumer and commercial printers
OBJ - an alternative format that includes more geometry data, useful if you need to make modifications before printing
STEP - a CAD-compatible format for anyone who wants to open the model in engineering software such as Fusion 360 or SolidWorks for further refinement
All files are sent via email as a download link within 24–48 hours of your submission being received and approved.
What You Need to Upload
To get an accurate result, your photo needs to meet a few basic requirements:
Shot on a plain, flat, contrasting surface (e.g. white paper or dark bench top)
Both sides of the key photographed separately
Good lighting - no heavy shadows or glare across the blade
The key lying completely flat, not at an angle
A standard ruler or coin placed alongside the key for scale reference
The better the photo, the more accurate the model. Blurry, low-light, or angled shots will result in a lower quality file or may be rejected and refunded.
